Company: Sweet Leaf Bakery and Deli
Initially I tried emailing a few bakeries but
I got rejected. Hence, I took the initiative to walk to the bakery shop in my
neighbourhood and requested for the Boss' contact number. I called her to tell
her about my project. Later that day, she rejected my request (as seen
below).
However, I did not give up. I persisted and
pleaded with her to reconsider me. A few days later, she finally agreed and I
was told to report to the bakery on 2nd September 2014 at 9am. Yayy!
What did I do?
I thoroughly enjoyed my day standing beside the huge oven and getting my
hands smirched in
flour and eggs. It was a completely new experience! The bakers were friendly
and patient. In just a day, I learnt the entire process of baking a chiffon
cakes, traditional buns and making flour ready for moulding. This experience
taught me to appreciate each bite of the bread I have every morning.

Sadly, I did not get to meet the Boss, Wee Nee, personally as she wasn't
around that day. Nonetheless, before leaving the bakery, I called Wee Nee
to thank her for giving me such a wonderful experience!
